What this is

$SKIFF is a loyalty scheme run by The Skiff, Kampstraat 2, Hilversum. You earn coins by spending time in the pub, and you spend them at the bar. The coins are issued as a token on the Solana blockchain, which makes them yours to hold — but they are a bar’s loyalty points, not a financial product.

Earning

One hour at a participating venue earns one coin. The timer runs while you are there and pauses when you leave; leave for too long and the unfinished hour is lost. During a happy hour the same hour may earn a multiple.

The location check is the rule, and we enforce it. Faking your position to earn coins you did not sit for is grounds for us to remove the coins and close the account.

What a coin is worth

A coin is worth what the bar will give you for it. Today that is 25 coins for one Hertog Jan.

Beyond that: there is no market for $SKIFF. It is not listed anywhere, cannot be bought, and has no price. We do not promise it will ever have one, and nothing here should be read as suggesting it is an investment or will become worth money. If that changes we will say so — but do not collect coins expecting it.

The supply is fixed at one million and the authority to create more has been destroyed, which anyone can verify from the mint address 9fTi23XhTvzaDA4inMTgNxoTgfYmZiUNh5J2Udtm8zm2.

Spending

You spend coins in the app, at the bar, while a member of staff watches you slide to confirm. What is on the rewards list, and what it costs, is set by the bar and can change. We will honour the price shown at the moment you claim.

Redemption depends on the bar being open and having the thing in stock, and is subject to the same law as buying a drink — we will not serve alcohol to anyone underage or already drunk, coins or no coins.

Your wallet

You sign in with a Solana wallet, and coins you transfer go to that wallet. We never have your private key and cannot recover it. If you lose access to your wallet, the coins in it are gone — not withheld by us, simply beyond anyone’s reach. That is what self-custody means.

Ending it

You can ask us to delete your account at any time, which removes any coins in the app that you have not transferred out. Coins already in your own wallet stay yours.

We can close an account for faking location, abusing the rewards, or behaviour that would get someone barred from the pub in the ordinary way.

If we ever stop running the scheme we will give reasonable notice so you can spend or transfer what you have.

The boring part

The app is provided as it is. We will keep it working but cannot promise it will never be down, and a phone’s GPS is not something we control. Dutch law applies. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.
